Time to do something

9 Oct

There is a motto dating from WWII that has re-surfaced in the UK. It reads ‘Keep calm and carry on’, and appears on tea-towels, mugs, T-shirts and in highly unamusing misquotes.  After months of enduring this mindless mantra I have become completely sick of it. There are so many things to get joyous or angry about. This isn’t wartime and very little is achieved by mindless stoicism. What we really need is a passion for excellence and the drive for truth and justice. Forget the stiff upper lip and get out there and do something.  Harness your passion, fulfil your potential, and don’t be afraid of emotional reactions. Either that or join the rest of the herd, drinking your nice tea out of the mug with the motto on it, not causing any trouble for your masters.
